It’s not that I approve of Newt’s infidelity. I do not. However, he says he has repented of it. Rush has been married thrice, and folks still listen to him. He, Newt, is without a doubt a flawed man. However, and here’s the thing, he leads. He has a plan. He knows how to work the dirty system in Washington to achieve his goals, which are good goals. He is, I think, our best remaining option. The alternative is Romney, a milksop, poll-minding, namby pamby RINO from Massachusetts. We don’t need to get along right now. We need a firebrand. We need a guy who can enter the fray on our behalf and engage in some good old political butt-kicking. Our country is broken. I think Newt is the best chance we have of fixing it. Beyond the no-adultery pledge, it’s the other things he says in the letter that are captivating, and which I whole-heartedly support. In contrast, I think Romney says what he thinks he has to say to gain political favor.
